Take Away or Just Leave It There: After Boot Camp Advice
September 3, 2010
Could you ever consider drinking a glass of fat?
No, we’re not insane, nor is this a joke. Recent research has shown that having an easy take away meal is the same as ingesting a good glass filled with, you guessed it, pure filthy fat.
Ethnic food may appear a good idea for dinner, yet every time you eat Chinese for example – a normal menu consisting of crispy duck, chicken balls and spring rolls – you are eating much more than you would think. That equates to, actually, to just under 3,000 calories (more than what the average man’s everyday intake should be) or around 130 gr of fat.
You don’t have to be a dietician, a fitness trainer or even a boot camp expert to understand how wrong that is. In the UK, it has been determined that more than one in three people consume take-away food at least two times per week. And while all the ectomorphes out there need not to worry, for all the others that might not be good news.
Take away meals (or, at this point, should it just be called ‘junk food’) is fine for the occasional treat, but it shouldn’t become a normal habit. People who practise all kinds of sports and exercises are doing the right thing, but many of them are not aware of the fact that by consuming the wrong kind of food after practising, they’re just doing more damage than good.
Enjoy your green salad tonight. (And no sauce for you!)
